Sometimes I don't think...

The scene from Tuesday...

As soon as I walk in the door, Justin says "mom, my pump says pump not primed... no delivery" SHIT! When did that happen? "on the bus" (20 minutes ago).

Okay, not a big deal. We will prime and correct... you should be fine.

As I primed the pump... SEVERAL drops of the insulin dripped out onto the floor.

Suddenly, I hear a gasp from my daughter as Oakley is going after the drippings.

Sometimes I just don't think. My mind was so focused on fixing... that I neglected to simply grab a paper towel to catch several drops of a medicine that could possibly kill a six month old puppy.

Do you think it could? Or would it have to be injected? My inquiring mind wants to know!

Oakley is part of the family... how would I explain that?

GOOD question! I want to know the answer, too.

Oakley is a cutie. Too bad we don't live near each other. We could get the kids together AND the dogs! ;)

You have a chorkie and I have a morkie (a.k.a., malkie; 1/2 maltese, 1/2 yorkshire terrier).

Interesting, something I've never thought of, now I am racking my brain wondering if my dog has ever licked up any insulin?

My understanding is that unless it is injected, it does no harm Insulin must be injected to 'work', disgestion 'kills' it, so to speak.
